Caution Review

1. GTFO (6/10)
As Mariah said herself this song was not so serious. Despite its catchy chorus, this song fails to deliver Mariah's iconic style. Maybe the absence of a decent climax and rich lyrical content are contributing factors.

2. With you (10/10)
Although not very worthy for a lead single, this song had everything a lamb would crave. Simple beat, haunting vocals, references of rare fan-favourite songs, powerful climax, interesting vocabulary and of course mesmerizing whistle virtusity!

3. Caution (8/10)
I have to say that from the title alone i expected something more dynamic and aggressive. However, after several listens, I know appreciate the smart lyrics and the everlasting R&B groove. Moreover, the flow is interesting and it is overall a very current yet standout song. Do I even have to mention the whistled "caution" in the climax?

4. A No No (10/10)
This should have been the lead single! The sample is anazing, her tone is unbelievably youthful and rich and the lyrics are very playful and fun while hiding some shade (snakes in the grass, its time to cut the lawn). The lyrics are reminiscent of the "shake it off" style of writing. It might get a little repetitive at times but it certainly is a highlight of the album

5. The distance (8,5/10)
This is another interesting song. Although I am not a big fan of the chorus, apart .from the beat, the verses and especially the prechorus are captivating. Ty dolla sign's verse is also worth-mentioning

6. Givin me life (9/10)
Long as hell! Obviously the last part was supposed to be an interlude that never got sperated. For some reason, it gives me "the roof" vibes, with her using her rich lower register and incorporating a mysterious beat. The part that is most worth-listening though is the last minute due to the atmospheric vocals and instrumentation stylized with haunting whistle runs

7. One mo'gen (10/10)
This is my fave along with Runway! The beat? Amazing. The vocals? Spectacular. The melody? Unforgettable. The lyrics? Unique. The vibe? Playful, calm yet dynamic

8. 8th grade (9/10)
Kind of similar to "One mo'gen" but with a different approach in terms of the lyrical content. Describing her emotional insecurities during that time of her life, this song is definately worthy of being mentioned

9. Stay long love you (8,5)
I love the beat! This is a catchy song, which might not be as unique as some other songs but it is a club banger for sure. The addition of Gunna was also an interesting touch!

10. Portait (10/10)
I can definately spot some striking similarities with "Petals:, which, if you know "Petals, is a very good thing. This song, a mix of "Petals", "Twister", "I wish you well" and "Camouflage", is already listed as one of her best ballads. The realness of the lyrics and her vocal perfromance make his song easily distinguishable from the others

BONUS

11. Runway (11/10)
Mariah was so stupid not to include this on the album. This screams hit!
The empowering lyrics, which you can't really undersatnd unless you read them first to be honest, the current and dynamic beat and her strong vocal performance made me fall in love with song

Overall, this album is definately not her best or better than her previous album but it is another proof of her versatility and talent.
